Beside a river stood a tree where a dove lived in her nest. One day, a small ant came to the riverbank to drink water. While drinking, her foot slipped, and she was swept away by the strong current.

The ant panicked and cried out for help, but she was so tiny that no one could hear her voice. The dove, perched in the tree above, happened to notice her struggling in the water. Feeling sorry for the ant, she decided to help at once.

The dove plucked a leaf from the tree and dropped it into the river, right beside the drowning ant. The ant quickly climbed onto the leaf and saved herself. The leaf drifted slowly toward the shore, and the ant climbed safely onto dry land. She thanked the dove and promised herself that she would repay this kindness one day.

Some time later, a hunter came near the very tree where the dove lived. He spotted her and began preparing his bow and arrow to shoot her. The dove, unaware of the danger, sat peacefully in her nest.

The very same ant happened to be passing by and noticed the hunter aiming at the dove. She instantly remembered the kindness the dove had once shown her. Without a moment's hesitation, the ant rushed to the hunter's foot and bit him sharply.

The hunter cried out in pain, and his aim was thrown off completely. His arrow flew wide and missed its mark. Hearing the commotion, the dove became alert and flew away immediately, escaping to safety.

Moral: Even the smallest act of kindness can make an enormous difference. Good deeds are always repaid in some form, and no creature, however small, is ever truly unimportant.
